All participants are invited to the welcoming reception at the Tallinn University of Technology. Wine and refreshments will be served. The welcoming reception is open to registered participants and accompanying persons.

Closing Banquet, July 3, 2012 at 18:00 (Bus from TUT)

Closing Banquet at the Flower Pavillion. The Flower Pavillion is located at a marvellous-looking location, on a small hill by Pirita Road, from where you can enjoy an amazing view of the sea. The dignified yet cosy hall is decorated with palm trees of almost 100 years of age and other exotic plants.



The Closing Banquet is not included in the registration fee. Tickets can be purchased when registering for the conference for a fee of 55 EUR (student fee: 35 EUR), payable in advance together with the registration fee.  Tickets can also be purchased at the registration desk.

Tallinn combined city tour, July 1 at 18:00 or July 2 at 18:00 (Bus from TUT)

The tour starts from TUT, goes through city center to Kadriorg Park (Catherine’s Valley) to see Kadriorg Palace which was built by the Russian Czar Peter the Great for his wife Catherine I. The Palace is recently reopened after a longer period of reconstruction and offers an exposition of Western Art.




Next will be short stop at Song Festival Amphitheater, the venue of 130-years old song festival tradition, the Woodland Cemetery, where Estonian celebrities are buried.
On the way back to the center, the tour guide introduces the country and its people, the history of Tallinn and the Old Town, Tallinn’s number one attraction. The tour of the Old Tallinn begins on Toompea (Dome Hill) where Tallinn was founded in the 11th century. One of the oldest historical and architectural attractions is the Dome Church (inside visit, entrance fee) of the 13th century.
The onion domes of Alexander Nevski Cathedral (1900, Russian Orthodox, inside visit, no entrance fee) are in sharp contrast to the baroque and renaissance spires of St.Olaf`s, St. Nicholas’ and the Holy Ghost Church.
The 14th-15th century fortress wall with the towers Tall Hermann, Fat Margaret and Kiek in de Kök are reminders of the medieval citadel.
In Lower Town, the tour pass Town Hall and Town Hall Square.
The tour will ends in Town Hall Square.

Tartu is the oldest city in Estonia, first mentioned in 1030, „The Athens on the River Emajõe“ has been a centre of learning since1632, when the Swedish king Gustav II Adolphus founded a university there.
At 9.45 a.m. Meeting at the hotel in Tallinn. Transfer to Tartu
About 12:30 -14:30 Tartu sightseeing tour by walk.
At 14:30 Visit to the 475 years old University of Tartu Assembly Hall and the Student Lock-up, which are situated in the Main Building of the University
At 15:30 -16:30 Lunch by own
At 16:30 drive back to Tallinn
About at 19:00 back at hotel
